WORKING FOR AND
WITH YOU
From the moment a Sailor or Marine identifies a problem to the minute its solution hits the field, we unite and support. We bring together the necessary stakeholders from the beginning of each effort because we know faster solutions to your most pressing challenges means all hands on deck.
How Can You Work With NavalX?
We help Naval leaders address their most pressing challenges through relevant and available technology. Our team supports two types of Naval challenges: 1) critical technology priorities, focusing on the 18 NIF objectives, and 2) operational challenges facing Sailors and Marines today.
Step 1
Every NavalX effort begins by meeting with Naval leaders and end users to understand their specific needs and challenges.
Step 2
We work with you to distill those identified challenges into a problem statement. Then we scan the market for tech that offers solutions.
Step 3
We conduct user testing and work with you and vendors to rapidly develop solutions that meet user needs.
Step 4
We partner with sponsors and Program Offices to field new solutions for Sailors and Marines within 2 years — and scale in 5 years.
RDT&E
Research Development Test and Evaluation (RDT&E) funding is programmed into the Congressional budget and allows Naval leaders to fund projects up to prototype (TRL 6). We can combine RDT&E dollars with SBIR, public capital, and private capital to fully fund each effort.
SBIR
With Navy SBIR on the team, we are able to release new SBIR topics — and funding — to support the efforts that NavalX takes on. This close relationship also ensures we know when solutions are ready to move to the next phase and can align funding appropriately to streamline the process.
Public Capital
Through our close relationship with the Office of Strategic Capital (OSC), we can help align funding to identify and prioritize critical technology areas for the Department of Defense. This relatively new organization partners with private capital providers and other federal agencies to employ investment vehicles that have proven successful in other United States government contexts.
Private Capital
NavalX will never require the companies we work with to pursue private capital, but if they are at the right stage and interested, we can facilitate introductions to a curated selection of VCs in our network. This can sometimes help defray costs for the Department of the Navy and expedite the technology development process.
Why Work With Us?
We’re in the business of innovation for the U.S. Navy and Marine Corps, combining an agile approach to product development with Naval expertise.
WE ARE PART OF SOMETHING BIGGER
With our network of Department of Defense partners, we’re building a common framework to scale innovation across the Fleet and Force.
