How We Work

The Hawaii Tech Bridge unites an innovation ecosystem whereby the Department of Defense, private industry, academia, as well as state and local governments can collaborate to solve Navy and Marine Corps needs — while being mutually beneficial to all.

Hawaii is an ideal location for a Tech Bridge, due to its proximity to the Indo-Pacific region and its major military commands, along with a flourishing local technology sector and world-class academic institutions. More than 15,000 Sailors and 10,000 civilian employees work in 60+ Commands on Oahu and Kauai, contributing $2B+ annually to the local economy, including $1B in salaries and $1B in operations, contracts, and local purchases.
